Vintage Wood Foundry Mold on Stand

Sculptural and historical, this vintage wood foundry mold is elegantly displayed on a metal stand. The natural reddish wood tone is accented by the original red paint.

Foundry molds were hand carved from wood from a master wood worker who had to have the skill to make a perfect pattern of the object to be cast. Sand casting has been around for hundreds of years.

This mold is from about the turn of the century and has a heavy new iron stand.

10 1/2" tall from base to top of the mold.

Mold is 6 1/4" in diameter and 2 1/2 deep.

Iron base is 3" x 6"
